Swindon Step Up
Swindon finally came good on their promotion candidate tag – with a little help. Rotherham had come from a goal behind to lead 2-1 until Danny Schofield was given a second yellow card, leaving his team mates to defend the lead with 25 minutes left. A couple of minutes later, substitute Alan Connell got the equaliser. He then scored the winner in the 81st minute and Swindon stopped their three game losing streak. Rotherham suffered their first defeat of the season but they should be buoyed by debut striker Alex Revell’s two goals as they look to find goals after Adam Le Fondre’s departure. Rotherham could have won this had it not been for the sending off and will bounce back from this.
Where the blogs name comes from
Morecambe looked like getting another win under their belt but Bradford had other ideas. Bradford scored the equaliser in injury time. It will come as a bitter blow to Morecambe as the win would have sent them to the top of the league.
A real headscratcher
Perhaps the biggest shock yesterday was the game in Poland. How Piast Gliwice didn’t score a goal never mind win the game is beyond me. They were off to a flying start but suffering a 4-0 defeat against a team who were on a three game losing streak, it’s something you just have to call a freak result.
The elephants are rampant
Ivory Coast maintained their unbeaten run without Didier Drogba. They cruised to victory with a 5-0 and showed they are far too good at this level.
