Cup games provide big betting prices

Two English cup competitions for us to get ours hands on – I’ve picked three games in particular to sink our teeth into.

My strategy for cup competitions is to bet on the favoured team. Yes, there are upsets, but most of the time teams still don’t want to lose against a weaker side – apart from QPR obviously. With this strategy in mind, I’ve found ties were teams are competing in different leagues.

Aldershot Town vs Carlisle United

Aldershot performed a cup upset of their own last week with a win over West Ham. The Hammers did have a man sent off into the 2nd half, but credit  where it’s due, The Shots still had enough to win in normal time and fire themselves into the 2nd round. Before that, they were on a poor run of form losing three consecutive games in League Two. Aldershot escaped with a away draw against  Oxford during the weekend after having a man sent off in the 12th minute. Carlisle have showed decent form this season so far, winning four out of six games in all competitions. Carlisle play in League One and for the outright win it’s 2.40.

Swindon vs Southampton

Paolo Di Canio’s men take on a Southampton side who will be fired up after dropping their first points of the season to Leicester. Before the game, Southampton were on a five game winning steak as they’ve hit the ground running after being promoted this season and sit 2nd, a point behind Brighton. Di Canio hasn’t started well, losing four out of their six games in League Two. To be fair to them, they have only lost each game by a goal but I firmly believe Southapton have too much and the poor form of Swindon will continue. Southampton are 1.73 to win.

Northampton Town vs Huddersfield

Another team in poor form is Northampton. After a promising start with a draw on the opening day followed by two wins, they are now on a four game losing streak. Huddersfield are in better form with three wins and three draws in all competitions. Huddersfield continue to score goals where ever they go and I feel this will be no different. Huddersfield suffered their first away defeat in all competitions in fifteen games to Cardiff – even then they scored three goals. They are priced at 2.00.
