Saturday is upon us once again and there’s a plethora of games to choose from. I’ve selected just the four games today, two from the English leagues and two away sides in the Russian Premier league.
Middlesbrough vs Coventry
Rampant Middlesbrough are enjoying a great run of form so far, winning their last five games in all competitions and keeping three clean sheets in the process. Coventry on the other hand have yet to record a win this season, suffering four defeats. Coventry finally recorded a point when they faced Watford in a 0-0 draw. With Middlesbrough scoring goals for fun and playing at the Riverside, this is an easy victory and should be on any accy placed tomorrow. Boro are priced at 1.65 on the outright. Those looking for extra value, -1 on the handicap for Boro is priced at a massive 2.85.
MK Dons vs Stevenage
MK Dons are one of my favourite teams to bet on this season so far. They continue to perform game after game and the traders are slowly catching on. Unfortunately, their talismanic striker Sam Baldock has secured a move to West Ham. Baldock deserves his move and it’s no wonder why he’s caught the attention of a bigger club, scoring six goals this season. I still think MK Dons are a play without him and still have enough firepower to deal with most sides in League One. Their last game saw them dismantle Chesterfield 6-2. MK Dons were one of the teams to perform a Carling Cup upset on the newly promoted Premiership sides, during midweek and I think they are a play at 1.80.
Rostov vs Anzhi Makhachkala
You may have heard of the the Russian team Anzhi Makhachkala in the news recently. Investment has come in the form of yet another billionaire looking to play Football Manager for real. Signings include the never ageing Roberto Carlos, sometime Chelsea player Yuri Zhirkov and predatory striker Samuel Eto. Rostov fans will not be happy with their teams current home form having lost their last five games. Anzhi are having a solid season sitting in 4th place and should extend Rostov’s poor run to six even if Eto doesn’t make his debut. Anzhi are priced at a reasonable 1.70.
Volga vs Terek Grozny
Another away side in the Russian Premier League I fancy is Terek Grozny. The team they face have failed to score in their last six games and losing five of them. Terek Grony are in only slightly better form but have been scoring goals. They also won their home match against Volga back in April 1-0. In the face of Volga in such poor form, they are favourites at 1.73. Terek Grozny are priced at a huge 3.4 which will interest speculative punters. While the safer draw no bet is 2.5.
